1. Tomo-chan is a Girl!

Tomo Aizawa and Junichirou “Jun” Kubota are the most inseparable brothers you’ve ever seen. They spar and roughhouse but have each other’s back through thick and thin. But… Tomo is actually a girl and in fact, is madly in love with Jun!

Jun doesn’t notice any of Tomo’s advances, even when she explicitly confesses because tomboyish Tomo has been just another one of the guys for Jun since she was a kid.

This anime is based on Yanagida Fumita’s manga of the same name, and it is animated by a studio known for producing popular slice-of-life anime such as “Release the Spyce” and “Yuri Yuri.” Will Tomo and Jun’s romance survive this misunderstanding and blossom into something more?

The story follows a young girl named Maple, who starts playing a virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game (VRMMORPG) called “New World Online” (NWO). Maple is a new player in the game and wants to enjoy it without getting hurt, so she decides to put all of her character’s points into defense.

This leads to some hilarious situations and I highly recommend watching the first season quickly if you haven’t yet.

Campfire Cooking in Another World with my Absurd Skill is one of the new isekai anime releasing in January 2023. It is also the first isekai anime that is being animated by MAPPA. Yes, the same MAPPA studio that animated Chainsaw Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen and is also animating Vinland Saga Season 2.

Mukouda Tsuyoshi, 27, is transported into a fantasy world with three other heroes to save a kingdom from a mysterious threat. Tsuyoshi, on the other hand, is clearly dragged into the summoning ritual by accident. His only skill turns out to be “Food Menu,” which allows him to open an interface where he can buy and obtain modern Japanese supermarket items.

Tsuyoshi is kicked out of the palace and sets out on his own into his new world. However, his ability to create delectable dishes unknown to this world quickly pays off, attracting the legendary wolf Fenrir. Fenrir is so enamored with the food that he immediately enters into a contract with Tsuyoshi and becomes familiar. Tsuyoshi, accompanied by this whimsical mythical being, takes up a job as a merchant and adventurer, traveling and cooking up delectable meals that never fail to amaze the inhabitants of this world.

4. Vinland Saga Season 2

The highly anticipated season 2 of Vinland Saga is releasing this January 2023 and the animation studio is being changed from Wit Studios to MAPPA!

A new millennium begins in the southern part of Denmark’s Jutland peninsula. Thorfin was bought as a “slave” by landowner Ketil and forced to do land reclamation work on his farm. Thorfinn meets Einar, a young man who was also a slave like him, there. Thorfinn’s encounter with Einar forced him to confront his sins and begin to seek meaning in his life. Canute, who later became King of England, on the other hand, attempted to expand his territory in order to establish “the promised land.”

Atsushi saves a rather eccentric man named Osamu Dazai from drowning while starving on a riverbank. Dazai, a wacky suicide enthusiast and supernatural detective, has been looking into the same tiger that has been terrorizing the boy. They solve the mystery with Dazai’s partner Doppo Kunikida, but the outcome puts Atsushi in a bind. As strange occurrences occur, Atsushi is coerced into joining their firm of supernatural investigators, taking on unusual cases that the police cannot handle, along with his numerous enigmatic coworkers.
