Chiaki Kon (The Way of the Househusband) will direct the upcoming fantasy anime series Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts, with J.C.STAFF handling animation production. The anime will be out in 2023.
A new key visual and PV trailer for the anime have also been revealed.
The main voice cast for Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts will consist of Kana Hanazawa as Sariphi, Satoshi Hino as Leonhart, Yuka Nukui as Cy, and Natsumi Fujiwara as Clops.
In addition to Kon, the series screenwriter will be Seishi Minakami (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale), the character designer will be Shinya Hasegawa (Golden Time), the sound director will be Jin Aketagawa (Fuuto PI), and the music composer will be Kohta Yamamoto (Attack on Titan The Final Season).
From November 5, 2015, to October 20, 2020, Yuu Tomofuji’s original manga series was serialized in Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine. It was published by Hana to Yume Comics, with a total of 15 tankoubon volumes produced.
On August 20, 2022, a spin-off manga series titled The White Rabbit and the Beast Prince debuted in the same magazine. It takes place after the main manga series concludes and introduces new characters.
Yen Press describes the story as:
A young girl has resigned herself to being the next sacrificial meal for the Beast King…but the king is no mere monster! Love is more than skin-deep in this gorgeous fantasy manga.
