2023 has just begun and with it’s bringing a lot of highly anticipated anime. From new adaptations to popular returning series, fans have a ton to keep us busy all year.
While 2022 saw the premiere of worldwide hit anime such as Spy x Family and Chainsaw Man, 2023 sees the return of anime’s biggest franchises.
We’ve only been 14 days into 2023 and we’ve already got Tokyo Revengers Season 2, Vinland Saga Season 2, By the Grace of the Gods Season 2, BOFURI Season 2, and even In/Spectre Season 2 airing right now! Can you believe that?!
So, here are the 10 most anticipated anime of 2023 in no particular order.
1. Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 3
Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3, the final chapter of the anime, is coming this year. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions so far and despite the fact that the final season has been stretched into three parts over almost three years, fans are still excited for the series’ conclusion.
The anime, which began as a depiction of the last of humanity fighting off giant monstrous titans, has taken many twists and turns since its initial release in 2013, and its finale is set to be the most heartbreaking chapter yet.
2. Solo Leveling
At long last, one of the most if not the most popular/known manhwa is finally getting an anime adaptation!
Solo Leveling has the typical story of an underdog protagonist who went from being the weakest hunter to becoming the world’s strongest; a lengthy storyline with intricate lore; and an addictive modern retelling of a popular power fantasy subgenre. The premise doesn’t seem all that incredible at first glance but somehow it still manages to immerse the reader into the story.
“The Gate” appeared ten years ago, connecting the real world with the realm of magic and monsters. To combat these heinous beasts, ordinary people gained superhuman abilities and were dubbed “Hunters.” Sung Jin-Woo, a twenty-year-old Hunter, is one such Hunter, but he is known as the “World’s Weakest” due to his pitiful power in comparison to even a meager E-Rank. Nonetheless, he hunts monsters in low-rank Gates in order to pay his mother’s medical bills.
This miserable existence changes when Jin-Woo, believing himself to be the sole survivor of a disastrous mission, awakens three days later in a hospital to find a mysterious screen floating in front of him. This “Quest Log” requires Jin-Woo to complete an unrealistic and intense training program or face a suitable penalty. Jin-Woo is initially hesitant to comply due to the rigor of the quest, but he soon realizes that it may just transform him into one of the world’s most fearsome Hunters.

Several millennia later, Taiju awakens to discover that the modern world has vanished, as nature has flourished in the years that humanity has stood still. Taiju comes across one other living human among a stone world of statues: his science-loving friend Senkuu, who has been active for a few months. Taiju learns that Senkuu has devised a grand plan to resurrect civilization through science. Taiju’s brawn and Senkuu’s brains combine to form a formidable alliance, and they soon discover a way to resurrect the petrified.

In exchange for a full pardon from the Shogunate, he wants Gabimaru to join an expedition to an island south of Japan in search of the elixir of life.
