The light novel “The Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss, But I’m Not the Demon Lord” is getting an anime adaptation. A teaser has been released along with the announcement.
For people who’re unware of the series. “Villainess Level 99” tells the story of Yumi, a young girl who wakes up one day to find herself reincarnated as a villainess in a popular dating sim. The catch is that she is now the game’s final boss, and her ultimate goal is to defeat the protagonist and win the love of her chosen suitor.
But there’s another problem: Yumi has never been a villain, and she’s not sure she wants to be one. As she navigates this new world, she must learn how to be the perfect villainess while also attempting to win the heart of her chosen suitor and avoid a tragic ending.

Yumiella Dolkness is your typical otome RPG villain, except she’s also the game’s overpowered hidden boss. But, you see, Yumiella wasn’t always Yumiella. She was nothing more than an introverted college student and ardent gamer in her previous life. So, when she realizes she’s been reincarnated as a hidden boss, she’s determined to stay away from the protagonists and avoid being killed by them. All she wants is a peaceful life. Yumiella can’t ignore her amazing stats when her gamer instincts kick in… A girl has to work hard! So, with plenty of time before beginning life at the academy, she gets a little carried away and maxes out her level at 99. And when the rest of the world finds out, they mistake her power for that of the Demon Lord! Is this OP villain strong enough to reclaim the peaceful life she has always desired?!
The light novel series is written by Satori Tanabada and Illustrated by Tea. It began in May 2019 and has five volumes as of now. The books are published under the Kadokawa Books label.
There is also a manga adaptation of Villainess Level 99: I May Be the Hidden Boss, but I’m Not the Demon Lord published by Nokomi. The story debuted in June 2018 as a Shousetsuka ni Narou web novel.
