The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime adaptation is getting a fourth season. The announcement has confirmed that the anime is taking on the “Hashira Training Arc” next.
A visual illustrated by character designer and chief animation director Akira Matsushima, featuring hashiras Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, Gyomei Himejima, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Obani Iguro, and an announcement trailer were released as well.
The “Hashira Training Arc” announcement came shortly after the final episode of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc aired in Japan. Swordsmith Village Arc debuted in April and lasted 11 episodes, with the first and final episodes being particularly long.
The anime’s staff includes director Haruo Sotozaki, art director Kouji Etou, photography director Yuuichi Terao, and color designer Yuuko Oomae. Ufotable is producing the anime and is also credited for writing the script.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Hanae Natsuki as Tanjiro Kamado, Akari Kitou as Nezuko Kamado, Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga, which began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2016 and ended in 2020 with 23 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media describes it as :
Learning to destroy demons won’t be easy, and Tanjiro barely knows where to start. The surprise appearance of another boy named Giyu, who seems to know what’s going on, might provide some answers—but only if Tanjiro can stop Giyu from killing his sister first!
The first season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba debuted in 2019, followed by Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in 2020. Mugen Train’s TV broadcast version debuted in October 2021, while Entertainment District Arc ran from December 2021 to February 2022.
