The main trailer and key visual for the TV anime adaptation of the superhero manga Shy have been released, along with an October premiere date.
The release of the new promotional materials was accompanied by additional staff/cast reveals, including:
The staff for the series includes a talented lineup of individuals, Yasuhiro Nakanishi (World Dai Star, Kagura-sama: Love is War) as Series composer/scriptwriter, Yuuichi Tanaka (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Too! and Climax) as the Main character designer, Takai Risa (The Slime Diaries co-character designer) as Character designer/chief animation director, Akihiro Sueta (The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149 animation director) as Tetsurou Moronuki (Psycho Pass 3: First Inspector action animation director) as the Action director, and Hinako Tsubakiyama (Sugar Apple Fairy Tale) as Music composer.
Meanwhile, the cast includes:
- Nao Touyama as Iko Koishikawa
- Tomokazu Sugita as Ebio
- Mamiko Noto as Spirits
- Shinichirou Miki as Stardust
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Lady Black
- Ayumu Murase as Menron
- Kikuko Inoue as Uniroad
It was also revealed that MindaRyn will perform the opening song “Shiny Girl,” which is featured in the trailer.
Shy is based on the Akita Shoten-published manga by Bukimi Miki. Yen Press describes the plot as:
Earth was on the brink of a third World War when super-powered individuals came forth from each country around the globe, ending the conflict and ushering in a new era of relative peace. Among those heroes, Japan is represented by a timid young girl known as “Shy.” She may spend more time worrying about her own shortcomings than she does battling villains, but she’ll show the world that despite it all she still has the heart of a hero!
