The Monsters one-shot from One Piece creator Eiichirou Oda is being adapted into a TV episode-length anime, it has been announced.
Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1), E&H Production’s founder and president, is directing the adaptation.
Monsters takes place in the same world as One Piece and follows samurai Shimotsuki Ryuma. It first appeared in the 1994 Autumn Special of Weekly Shonen Jump Soukan (One Piece began serialization in 1997) and was collected in 1998 Wanted! anthology.
The second and final day of the One Piece Day ’23 event is currently underway. A lengthy three-minute trailer for Netflix’s live-action adaptation and a preview of the TV anime series’ upcoming 1071st episode “Luffy’s Peak – Attained! Gear Fifth” were released, in addition to various announcements.
