The One Piece TV anime series’ production team has released a short 33-second PV trailer teasing the arrival of Luffy’s GEAR 5 powers in action. The trailer debuted on One Piece Day ’23 in anticipation of the anime’s 1071st episode, which will air in Japan on August 6, 2023.
Tatsuya Nagamine (Dragon Ball Super: Broly) is the episode’s director, with Midori Matsuda (One Piece Film Gold, One Piece 1000th episode opening animation) and Keita Saitou as animation directors.
A new trailer for the ONE PIECE Netflix live-action series was released prior to the announcement. The main cast also performed live voice-overs for some scenes, which included the audience in unexpected ways. Hiro Shimono (adult Momonosuke) and Megumi Han (Tama-chan) then joined them on the set for the Land of Wano Behind the Scenes Special.
Recently, it was also announced that the One Piece anime will receive a new ending theme song titled “Raise” by Chilli Beans. Meanwhile, SEKAI NO OWARI will perform the new opening theme song for the anime.

Toei Animation’s long-running One Piece anime series debuted in 1999 and surpassed a whopping 1000 episodes on November 21, 2021. One Piece Film Red, the 15th One Piece anime film, premiered in Japan in August 2022 and finished as the country’s eighth-highest-grossing film and one of the highest-grossing anime films worldwide. Outside of Japan, the anime series is available on Crunchyroll and iQIYI.

On July 22, 1997, the original manga series by Eiichirou Oda began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. As of July 2023, a total of 106 tankoubon volumes had been published. The manga is currently being published by Jump Comics. Prior to the current series and films, the manga also inspired an OVA from Production I.G in 1999.
