The anime adaptation of Days with My Stepsister is set to premiere in 2024. The main staff and an “ultra teaser visual” were also revealed with the announcement.
The anime is directed by Ueno Soudai (Sasaki and Miyano assistant director), with series composer Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend) and character designer Manabu Nii (Akiba Maid War). The animation production company is Studio Deen.
The cast of the anime includes Kouhei Amasaki as Yuuta Asamura and Taichi Asamura, Yuki Nakashima as Saki Ayase, Daiki Hamano as Tomokazu Maru, Ayu Suzuki as Maaya Narasaka, Minori Suzuki as Shiori Yomiuri, and Eriko Hara as Akiko Ayase.
The KADOKAWA-published light novel series written by Ghost Mikawa and illustrated by Hiten debuted in 2021, and the ninth volume will be released on August 25. The books are released under the MF Bunko J imprint.
Yen Press describes the plot as:
After his father remarries, Yuuta suddenly finds himself with a new stepsister: Saki, the greatest beauty at school. Neither of them is sure how to act around the other at first, but the two gradually grow more comfortable living together. Slowly, cautiously, patiently, two strangers become more. So begins an unlikely love story.
Days with My Step Sister first began on YouTube in 2020 as a series of videos with illustrations and voice acting (the voice actors for the anime are the same as those for the YouTube videos). Yumika Kanae created a manga adaptation based on the light novels.
