The upcoming fantasy anime Berserk of Gluttony has received a final trailer as it approaches its October 1 premiere on Crunchyroll and select Japanese streaming sites (the Japanese TV broadcast begins on October 4).
In addition to the trailer, the first episode of a six-episode mini-anime series featuring chibi versions of the Berserk of Gluttony cast was released on YouTube.
The cast includes Ryouta Oosaka as Fate, Tomokazu Seki as Greed, Hisako Toujou as Roxy, Misato Matsuoka as Myne, and Hitomi Sekine as Eris.
Meanwhile, the staff includes Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Orient) as director, Mariko Kunisawa (Orient) as series composer, and Takafumi Furusawa (Orient animation director) as character designer. A.C.G.T. is the animation production company behind the project.
Berserk of Gluttony is an adaptation of Isshiki Ichika’s light novel series, which began in 2017 and inspired a manga adaptation by Daisuke Takino in 2018. Eight volumes were published under Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label until October 2022. Light novel publication under the GCN Bunko label began in 2021 and has six volumes as of April 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment, which publishes both the light novel and manga versions of Berserk of Gluttony in English, describes the former as:
Fate Graphite is one of the forsaken. Cursed with the skill “Gluttony,” he is ever starving, never sated…until the day he kills a dying thief and devours the man’s strength—and his soul. The true hunger of Fate’s Gluttony has awakened, and if he can learn to control his power, he will at last be the master of his own destiny.
