Romantic comedy manga “The Shiunji Family Children” (Shiunji-ke no Kodomo-tachi) by “Rent-a-Girlfriend” author Reiji Miyajima is getting an anime adaptation. Unfortunately, no release date or information about the anime’s cast and staff was revealed. It’s also unclear which studio will make this “forbidden love” anime.
A romantic comedy unfolds when seven step-siblings from an affluent family discover they aren’t biologically related. As this revelation sinks in, once-forbidden emotions begin to blossom among them.
The Shiunji Family Children manga, published by Hakusensha and created by Reiji Miyajima, the author of Rent-A-Girlfriend, with Reiji Yukino as co-artist, debuted in Young Animal in 2022. Its third tankoubon volume is scheduled for release on February 16, 2024. To celebrate the anime’s announcement, an illustration by Miyajima was unveiled.
Yen Press describes the manga as:
The love between brother and sister. The love between man and woman. That which is most forbidden is most unyielding. The two sons and five daughters of the Shiunji family shine like brilliant gems, each with intelligence and beauty in equal measure. And with the pedigree of their wealthy father behind them, how could they not be the talk of the town? Eldest son Arata has spent his life being tossed around by the whims of his colorful sisters, yet a little teasing won’t stop him from valuing his family over anything and anyone else. But when his youngest sister turns fifteen, their father reveals a long-hidden secret of the Shiunji “siblings” and knocks Arata’s world off its axis…
