6. Tokyo Ghoul
Fearsome beings known as “ghouls” lurk in the shadows of Tokyo, satisfying their hunger by feeding on humans at night. In response to the constant attacks on citizens and as a means of purging these creatures, the Commission of Counter Ghoul (CCG) was formed. However, identifying ghouls is difficult because they disguise themselves as humans and live among the masses to make hunting prey easier. When Ken Kaneki’s date turns out to be a ghoul after his flesh, the unsuspecting university freshman finds himself in a world between humans and ghouls.
After barely surviving this encounter and being taken to a hospital, he discovers that the surgery he received has transformed him into a half-ghoul. Kaneki is taken in by friendly ghouls who run a coffee shop to help him with his transition after he is unable to satisfy his intense craving for human meat through conventional means. As he begins what he believes will be a peaceful new life, he has no idea that he is about to become embroiled in a war between his new comrades and the forces of the CCG, and that his new existence has piqued the interest of ghouls all over Tokyo.
5. Dorohedoro
Hole, which refers to a dark, decaying, and disorderly neighborhood where the strong prey on the weak and death is common, is apt. It is a realm that is separate from law and ethics, and it serves as a testing ground for the magical users who dominate it. As a race at the pinnacle of their society, the magic users regard the residents of Hole as nothing more than insects. The powerless Hole dwellers are murdered, mutilated, and subjected to experiments on a daily basis in the halls of Hole’s hospital.
With free access to and from the cesspool and little challenge to their authority, the magic users appear invincible to most—with the exception of a few. Caiman, a reptile-like creature, is one such example. He pursues them with zeal, armed only with a trusted pair of bayonets and his immunity to magic. Cursed by his appearance and plagued by nightmares, magic users are his only hope of returning to normalcy. With his stomach as his main obstacle, his female companion Nikaidou, who owns the restaurant Hungry Bug, is his greatest ally.
Set in a gritty world of hellish design, Dorohedoro manages a healthy balance of comedy and lightheartedness with death and carnage. It weaves a unique world of unearthly origin and dreary appearance, taking plenty of twists and turns while following the lives of Hole’s residents. It is not for the squeamish or easily disturbed.
4. Fire Punch

Nonetheless, what little peace they have is shattered when army commander Doma passes through and incinerates the village where they are seeking refuge, including Agni’s beloved sister. Doma’s flames do not die until their target is reduced to ash, and thanks to Agni’s remarkable regeneration, he remains ablaze and in constant, excruciating pain.
Agni has conditioned himself to tolerate Doma’s flames after nearly a decade of suffering. His rage, however, is as intense as it was the day Luna was taken from him. Agni vows to avenge his sister and kill Doma as he traverses a frozen wasteland.
3. Dandadan

When the two arrive at their destinations, they discover that neither of them was mistaken and that the occult and ghosts do exist.
