One Punch Man is officially returning for a third season. Chikashi Kubota, the character designer for the first two seasons, illustrated a teaser visual of Saitama and Garou for the announcement.
One Punch Man was first published as a webcomic by ONE in 2009. In June 2012, Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website began publishing a digital manga remake with illustrations by Yusuke Murata. The remake manga has been licensed by Viz Media in English and is being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.
Viz Media describes the manga as:
Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?
One-Punch Man’s first two anime seasons were released in 2015 and 2019, respectively. The first season was directed by Shingo Natsume and produced by Madhouse, while the second season was produced by J.C.Staff and directed by Chikara Sakurai.
In addition to the anime, the one punch man manga has inspired a few video game adaptations. A live-action film adaptation is also in the works.
