After 25 long years, Ash Ketchum, the eternal 10-year-old Pokémon protagonist, has risen to the top of the Pokémon trainer world. The newly crowned world champion accomplished his ultimate goal in the most recent episode of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, which will be broadcast in English at a later date.
In the Ultimate Journeys episode, Ash and Pikachu triumph in the Masters Eight Tournament of the Pokémon World Coronation Series. In intense battles against highly skilled Pokémon trainers from around the world, Ash’s team is put to the ultimate test.
Ash’s historic victory in the Pokémon World Coronation Series was the culmination of a 25-year adventure that began on April 1, 1997, when the first season of the long-running anime franchise debuted.
Ash previously became the Alola region’s first official Pokémon League Champion in 2019 at the Manalo Conference, which served as the setting for Pokémon Sun and Moon. This ended a 22-year championship drought for the team.
Pokémon, based on the video game franchise of the same name, has spawned numerous anime seasons, spinoffs, web series, manga, animated feature films, merchandise, and other forms of media.
On social media, a vast amount of people have congratulated Ash on his long-awaited achievement.
Veronica Taylor — the original English language dub actress for Ash — offered her congratulations on Twitter.
Current Ash Ketchum English voice actress Sarah Natochenny was also happy to hear of Ash’s win and expressed excitement for voicing him in the episode in the future.
Puerto Rican reggaetón rapper and singer Bad Bunny also offered praise for Ash in a Spanish tweet.
Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series is currently available to stream on Netflix in the U.S. The streaming service describes the series as:
