Summer 2022 is here and with it, we have a lot of the most anticipated new and returning anime. So, here’s a list of the Best Summer 2022 Anime!
Only anime that debuted by early July 19, 2022 are currently included. Also, this list doesn’t include anime that continued from spring.
8. Vermeil in Gold
Vermeil in Gold wastes little time in confirming that it will get reasonably risky with its content, even if it is unlikely to show anything too graphic. Alto summons a powerful demon named Vermeil with the help of a mysterious grimoire in order to pass his summoning magic class, and she is more than willing to serve as his familiar. However, Vermeil needs to get physical with Alto in order to increase his power.
Vermeil in Gold is an acquired taste, to put it mildly. I’ve read the manga and enjoyed it to a degree but I never imagined that it’ll get an anime adaptation. It’s not the best anime out there but enjoyable nonetheless.
7. Engage Kiss
Veyron City is a massive floating metropolis born of the discovery of new energy sources.
Shuu, a young man who owns and operates a small business in the area, lives a meager existence as a result of his reckless spending. Kisara is a demon girl who frequently visits Shuu’s office and home because she is concerned about him. She works in Veyron City while attending high school, doing everything from clerical work to housework. Shuu’s ex-girlfriend, Ayano, a senior colleague at the corporation where he previously worked, is also concerned about him.
Thus begins the slapstick romantic comedy about three people in an unusual relationship on a man-made island in the Pacific Ocean. But that’s not everything there is to it. Behind the carefree and happy-go-lucky demeanor lies a painful past and a strong resolve for revenge.
6. Classroom of the Elite Season 2
At Koudo Ikusei Senior High School, just passing is something to be proud of, and graduating is the best thing you can do. When students are free to do and buy whatever they want, the school seems like a paradise, but this idea is quickly shattered.
Season 2 of Classroom of the Elite picks up right after the events of the Cruise Ship Special Test arc, with the first-year classes facing a new challenge. This new test shakes it up by combining students from various classes, forcing “enemies” to work together while pursuing points for themselves.
5. Call Of The Night
Call of the Night, arguably the most anticipated new anime of Summer 2022, tells a unique romance about a disenfranchised teenage boy, Kou Yamori, who suffers from insomnia and ventures out during the night. During this walk, he meets an enigmatic woman named Nazuna, who ignites a spark in him. She also bites his neck, revealing herself to be a vampire. Unexpectedly, Kou declares his desire to become a creature of the night, a process that requires him falling in love with Nazuna.
4. The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 2
Many fans of this anime had silently accepted in their minds and hearts that it would not return with a second season. Yet after 9 long years after its initial release, The Devil is a Part-Timer has returned to give fans the season 2 they’ve been waiting for.
If you still haven’t watched this anime yet, be sure to do so right now!
3. Uncle From Another World
Isekai is a central theme of Summer 2022, as it has been for nearly half a decade. Aside from returning favorites, the subgenre’s new shows have generally proven to be entertaining, even if most isekai anime these days are a little too generic. So far Uncle from Another World stands out the most among the new isekai, and it is also one of the best comedy anime of this season.
Ojisan returns to Earth after spending 17 years in a fantasy world and moves in with his nephew, Takafumi. Ojisan tries to adjust to modern life while reminiscing on an adventure that produced more bad times than good, using his cultivated magical powers to create reasonably successful YouTube videos and to provide snapshot looks into his days as an isekai hero.
2. Overlord 4
Overlord Season 3 ended with Momonga taking his first real step to take over the world by destroying an army of tens of thousands of people. With Ainz’s fury, Overlord Season 4 promises both spectacle and carnage. Overlord is a great anime for people who like Adventure RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons. The fights are well-choreographed, and the magic system is well-developed.
1. Lycoris Recoil
Japan is the most peaceful country in the world — But there’s a secret behind these peaceful days, “DA – Direct Attack” is a covert organization that prevents crime. And their all-girl agency, “Lycoris.” This peaceful way of life is entirely due to these young ladies.
Chisato Nishikigi is the most powerful Lycoris agent of all time. Takina Inoue, the talented but mysterious Lycoris, joins them. They collaborate at one of its locations, Café LycoReco. This café accepts orders ranging from coffee and sweets to childcare, shopping, teaching Japanese to foreign students, and so on. The majority of the tasks are unsuitable for Lycoris. Chisato is a free-spirited and optimistic pacifist and Takina, who is both calm and efficient. The chaotic daily lives of this mismatched duo begin!
To be honest, I didn’t think that I’d like this anime with the main cast being high school girls and all. But, to my surprise, I enjoyed watching it and would highly recommend it to you guys.
Final Thoughts
There are plenty of new and returning anime this season. These are the ones that I thought were promising. So, if your favorite anime from this season didn’t make it to this list, worry not! Just drop their names in the comments so other people reading this post can find some good anime to watch.
