The Japanese premiere date for the sports anime Blue Lock has been set for October 8. A new visual and trailer have also been made public.
The new trailer gives us another look at the cast and the soccer action. It also gives us a sneak peek at the opening song “Chaos ga Kiwamaru” by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, which was just announced.
The Trailer
The ending song “WINNER” by Shugo Nakamura and three more cast members were also revealed. The latter include Natsuki Hanae as Ikki Niko, Ryouta Suzuki as Junichi Wanima and Keisuke Wanima, and Takahiro Sakurai as Sae Itoshi.
The first two episodes will be shown early at a number of places on September 23.
The soccer manga that Blue Lock is based on was written by Munemuki Kaneshiro and drawn by Yuusuke Nomura. It started in 2018 and as of July 2022, it has 20 tankoubon volumes. It is published under the Kodansha Comics label and is serialized in the Weekly Shonen Magazine from Kodansha.

Hisashi Higashijima, who was a co-main animator on Mahoujin Guru Guru, is the chief action director. Hiromi Sakamoto, who was a co-main animator on Caligula, is the action director. Sakura Komatsu (The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc) is the color designer, Takagi Sawako (Dropkick on My Devil!) is the art director, Asagi Yasuhir is the Photography Director, and the special effects for the anime were done by Akane. The anime is being produced at 8bit (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime)
Kazuki Ura plays Yoichi Isagi, while Tasuku Kaito plays Meguru Bachira, Yuuki Ono plays Rensuke Kunigami, and Souma Saitou plays Hyoma Chigiri.
