Ryu Nakayama is the director of the Chainsaw Man anime, which is being animated by Studio MAPPA and so far it seems they’ve done an amazing job. Character designs are handled by Kazutaka Sugiyama, while creature designs are handled by Kiyotaka Oshiyama. The music is being composed by Kensuke Ushio. In June of last year, the first trailer was released. The studio previously stated that it intends to hire and train animators for this and future projects. Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime in other countries, and it will also have its own panel at the Crunchyroll Expo later today.
The anime is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. The first installment originally lasted from 2018 to 2020 and consisted of 97 chapters and 11 volumes. The continuation, dubbed Part 2, will begin on the Shonen Jump+ platform on July 13.
Viz Media licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!
