Dead Mount Death Play Part 2 Reveals Final Trailer

The anime adaptation of Dead Mount Death Play has received a final trailer the day before the premiere of its second season on 9 October.

A teaser trailer and visual for the GEEKTOYS-produced show were released last month, along with the announcement that Ryoukan Satsuma (Sword Art Online: War of Underworld, Sakura Wars the Animation) would direct the new cour (cour 1 director Manabu Ono [Sword Art Online: War of Underworld, Sakura Wars the Animation] has been credited with directorial assistance).

The cast for Dead Mount Death Play includes Yuma Uchida as Takumi Kuruya, Takuya Eguchi as Tsubaki Iwanome, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Kouzaburo Arase, Atsumi Tanezaki as Risa Kuraki, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Rozan Shinoyama, and You Taichi as Sayo Shinohara.

Meanwhile, the staff includes Manabu Ono as Series composer, Hisashi Abe (Kingdom Season 3 and 4) as Character designer, and eba (Skeleton Knight in Another World co-composer) & Kana Utatane (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform) as Music composers.

Dead Mount Death Play is based on the reverse isekai manga written by Ryohgo Narita and illustrated by Shinta Fujimoto, which debuted in Young Gangan in 2017 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of April 2023. The first season aired in April on Crunchyroll, Ani-One Asia, and Bilibili outside of Japan. The manga is described by Yen Press as follows:

It’s a showdown for the ages as the legendary hero takes on the corpse god necromancer, but when the dust settles, something isn’t quite right… In the final moments of their epic confrontation, the corpse god’s final gambit shot was wholly unexpected — reincarnation magic! Across space and time, a boy named Polka Shinoyama awakens feeling…not quite himself…… Who could’ve expected that the climactic battle between good and evil would turn out like this??
