Ryouko Kui’s manga, Delicious in Dungeon, is being adapted for television with Studio TRIGGER as the animation production studio. A teaser image has been released.
The manga began in 2015, and the 12th tankoubon volume will be released on August 10 JST. It is currently being serialized in Harta and published under the Harta Comix label.
TRIGGER previously created a commercial for the eighth tankoubon volume of the manga, which was released in September 2019. Yoshihiro Miyajima (SSSS.Dynazenon assistant director) directed and storyboarded the CM, with character design by Mayumi Nakamura (SSSS.Dynazenon sub-character designer).
Yen Press describes the plot as:
When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
