South Korean law requires all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 to serve in the military for two years. The BTS members were granted special permission to delay their military service until they reached the age of 30.

According to the BTS management company, the oldest member of the boy band, Jin (29), will begin military training next month. During this time, all other BTS members intend to fulfill their military obligations. BTS is expected to return in 2025.

Because members of the BTS, particularly Jungkook and V, have already demonstrated an interest in anime, we thought it would be a great idea to let you BTS Fans out there about all of their favorite anime series!

1. Naruto

Naruto is arguably the most popular and liked anime of all time so it’s not that surprising that it also makes it into BTS’s favorite anime.

They sang one of Naruto’s theme songs on Karaoke in the 28th episode of RUN BTS. It’s obvious that a signature is required. The members of the band also performed an iconic ninja run.

The band was asked to choose between One Piece, Naruto, and Dragon Ball during an interview with Noisey. BTS’s RM (Namjoon) chose Naruto as his favorite anime and praised it for having a satisfying ending.

Suga (Yoongi) enjoys the Naruto series as well. In 2015, he showed his devotion by cosplaying as Naruto.

2. One Piece

Jimin is a big fan of One Piece. He has a soft spot for Zoro, the pirate crew’s swordsman. Jimin now owns every volume of the One Piece manga. When asked what his childhood dream was, Jimin stated that he enjoyed watching One Piece and that his favorite character in the series is Zoro.

Jimin’s affection is visible in the image when he receives a Zoro action figure for his birthday.

3. My Hero Academia

V enjoys watching anime while preparing for performances. He appears to be a devoted fan of the My Hero Academia series. Backstage at MAMA 2017, he was seen watching the My Hero Academia episode.

My Hero Academia is unarguably one of the best beginner anime of all time. Although the later seasons don’t live up to the hype around the 1st season it’s still a pretty good anime. Even better if you haven’t watched any or don’t watch a lot of anime.

4. Dragon Ball

Dragon Ball is one of those anime we all probably grew up watching or we’ve at least heard about it from a friend.

When Noisey asked the BTS boys to choose between Naruto, Dragon Ball, and One Piece during an interview, they got into a heated debate. Namjoon chose Naruto, but Suga tried to dominate the conversation by saying, “Dragon Ball,” “Absolutely Dragon Ball,” and so on.

Jin agreed with Suga, declaring Dragon Ball to be a masterpiece.

5. Attack on Titan

BTS’s song “Attack on Bangtan” was inspired by the film Attack on Titan. Every ARMY member who follows the band’s dorm knows that all 7 of them are huge fans of the Attack on Titan anime and manga series. They are all stocked with Attack on Titan merchandise or manga volumes.

6. Haikyuu

BTS members Jungkook and Taehyung are the biggest Haikyuu fans. They are both huge Haikyuu fans, and Shoyo Hinata is their idol. They even admitted in one of the interviews that they enjoy watching sports anime.

7. Slam Dunk

Suga was also a basketball player in high school. Even his stage name, “Suga,” (슈팅 가드), is derived from the first two syllables of “Shooting Guard,” the basketball position he previously held.

It’s safe to say that Suga is all about Slam Dunk. Suga was heavily influenced by the anime series as a child, which is why he tries to bring up Slam Dunk whenever possible.

8. Spirited Away

Jungkook once stated in an interview that as a child, his dream was to be a character from the anime Spirited Away who could transform into a massive dragon.

i find it really endearing how jungkook’s first childhood dream was to be haku from ‘spirited away’, his 2nd one was to become a professional cart rider game player, his 3rd dream was to become a badminton player and then his last one was to be a singer

and last but not least

9. Crayon Shin Chan

Hoseok may not be as into anime as other BTS members, but he still recommends Crayon Shin-chan to ARMYs. Shin Chan, an anime series known for its lighthearted comedy, is extremely popular in Asia.

So there you have it, these were 9 of BTS’s favorite anime. Let us know which one of these anime will you be watching first in the comments below!
