Netflix has announced that Uru Okabe’s Good Night World will be adapted into an anime film on October 12. Katsuya Kikuchi (Sengoku Night Blood, The Royal Tutor) is the director, Michiko Yokote (Call of the Night) is the series composer and screenwriter, and Suzuna Okuyama (The Royal Tutor) is the character designer. NAZ oversees the animation production.
The opening theme song “Black Crack” will be performed by NIJISANJI’s Kuzuha, while the ending theme song “salvia” will be performed by NIJISANJI’s Nornis.
Netflix describes Good Night World as:
A shut-in older brother. A high-achieving younger brother. A father who is not respected by his own children.A mother who neglects her own household. This is a broken family, and none of its members know that they are all players in an online game.
The original manga series began serialization in Shogakukan’s Ura Sunday and MangaONE in 2016. The fifth and final tankoubon volume was published in 2017.
