Acheron is a 5-star Lightning character following the path of Nihility introduced in Version 2.1. Her unique kit adds some completely new mechanics to Honkai Star Rail. Check out this guide for Acheron’s best builds, team comps, relics, light cones, materials, and more!
Acheron was released in the first phase of Version 2.1, which began on March 27, 2024. Acheron’s release banner, Words of Yore, ran from March 27 to April 17, 2024.
Acheron’s Character Overview
Acheron is an Emanator of Nihility who claims to be a Galaxy Ranger. She wanders the universe alone, accompanied only by her long sword, which she wields like a lashing lightning. She is described as aloof and taciturn, striking primarily with her scabbard and never drawing her sword free.
Is Acheron Worth Pulling?
Acheron wants to run with other Debuff units to help trigger her Ultimate ability. Acheron does not use energy and gains increasing stacks as debuffs are added on to enemy units. In general, Acheron will run with two other Nihility units and a sustain. Only with C2 can Acheron comfortably run with a harmony or non-Nihility unit. Acheron is a very strong character but struggles with lightcone options currently, so do keep that in mind when pulling for her.

---|---|---|---|
Body: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG Feet: SPD Sphere: Lightning DMG Rope: ATK | CRIT Rate ★★★ CRIT DMG ★★★ SPD ★★ ATK% ★★ |
Despite being a Nihility unit, Acheron functions as a standard DPS, taking advantage of the CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG stats. Acheron can also benefit from having at least 134 SPD, allowing her to get more turns in a single cycle.
Acheron can use the new Izumo ornament, which increases her CRIT Rate as long as another Nihility unit is present in the party.

Acheron’s Best Relics
- 4-Piece Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters
- Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters is Acheron’s best Relic set because it boosts her CRIT Rate and DMG against debuffed enemies.
- 2-Piece Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters + 2-Piece Musketeer of Wild Wheat
- A combination of Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters and Musketeer of Wild Wheat is your best budget option if you still don’t have enough Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters pieces with good sub-stats.
- 2-Piece Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters + 2-Piece Messenger Traversing Hackerspace
- A combination of Pioneer Diver of Dead Waters and Messenger Traversing Hackerspace is also a great option, increasing Acheron’s SPD which will give her more turns per cycle.
Acheron’s Best Planar Ornaments
- Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm (Simulated Universe: World 9)
- Izumo Gensei can boost Acheron’s CRIT Rate if the party includes at least one Nihility unit. This works extremely well for Acheron because her best teams are comprised of other Nihility units.
- Inert Salsotto (Simulated Universe: World 6)
- The good old Inert Salsotto can also work with Acheron as it can give her a small CRIT Rate boost while also increasing her Ultimate DMG.
- Firmament Frontline Glamoth (Simulated Universe: World 8)
- Firmament Frontline Glamoth’s DMG buff can be effective with Acheron if she has at least 135 SPD.

Acheron’s Kit/Traces (at Max Level)
Acheron’s kit may appear complicated, but it is actually quite simple and extremely powerful. Her kit enables her to reduce enemy defenses, break toughness regardless of weakness type, and deal massive AoE and single-target damage in the same turn. Let’s take a closer look at her kit to see how to play Acheron’s best build correctly.
- Trilateral Wiltcross (Basic Attack): Deals single target Lightning damage equal to 130% of Acheron’s Attack.
- Octobolt Flash (Skill): Inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on a single target and deals Blast Lightning damage equal to 200% of Acheron’s attack on the main target, and 75% of her Attack to the adjacent enemies. Additionally, gains 1 point of Slashed Dream.
- Slashed Dream Cries in Red (Ultimate): Unleashes Rainblade, dealing single target Lightning damage equal to 28.8% of Acheron’s Attack, and removes up to 3 stacks of Crimson Knot from the target. When Crimson Knot is removed, deals AoE Lightning Damage equal to 18% of Acheron’s attack, with the damage multiplier for this attack increasing by 18% for each Crimson Knot stack removed. After unleashing Rainblade 3 times, immediately unleashes Stygian Resurge, dealing AoE Lightning Damage equal to 144% of Acheron’s attack, removing all Crimson Knot Stacks. Crimson Knot are not inflicted during the Ultimate.
- Atop Rainleaf Hangs Oneness (Talent): Acheron unleashes her Ultimate when Slashed Dream reaches 9 points. During the Ultimate, enemies’ toughness depletes regardless of weakness type, and their All Type Resistant is reduced by 25% until the Ultimate ends. When any unit inflicts a debuff on an enemy, Acheron gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts Crimson Knot on the enemy target; if the ally debuffs multiple enemies, the Crimson Knot stack is applied to the enemy with the most Crimson Knot stacks. This effect can be triggered once per action. In addition, when Acheron is on the Battlefield and an enemy target leaves or is defeated, their Crimson Knot stacks are transferred to the enemy target with the most stacks.
- Quadrivalent Ascendance (Technique): After entering the battle, Acheron gains 2 Slashed Dream points, deals AoE Lightning damage equal to 80% of her attack, and inflicts 2 stacks of Crimson Knot on a single random enemy. If the enemy has Red Karma, they will be defeated immediately and will not engage in combat. The Technique immediately attacks the enemy; if the enemy is not hit, the Technique point is not depleted.
- Red Oni (Bonus Ability): When the battle begins, Acheron immediately gains a certain number of Slashed Dream and applies a certain number of Crimson Knot stacks to a random enemy. When Slashed Dream reaches its upper limit, each point that exceeds it gains one stack of Quadrivalent Ascendance, up to a maximum number of stacks.
- This Abyss (Bonus Ability): When there are 1 or 2 Nihility characters on the team besides Acheron, the DMG dealt by Acheron’s Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate bonus increases by a certain amount.
- Thunder Core (Bonus Ability): When the Rainblade from Acheron’s Ultimate uses Crimson Knot on enemy targets, her DMG increases, stacking up to a maximum number of times and lasting for a set number of turns. When Stygian Resurge is activated, it deals additional DMG a set number of times. Each time, Lightning DMG is dealt in equal measure and is considered part of the Ultimate DMG.
