The new opening and ending animations for Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 are now available on the TOHO animation channel, featuring the songs “SPECIALZ” by King Gnu and “more than words” by Hitsujibungaku, respectively.
Yuuki Kamiya, whose recent credits include Chainsaw Man’s third and eighth endings, as well as the opening sequence of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury Season 2. Shouta Goshozono, the director of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, storyboarded and unit-directed the ending sequence.
These new opening and ending sequences debuted with the anime’s sixth episode, which marks the start of the much-anticipated “Shibuya Incident Arc.” From July 6 to August 3, the first five episodes aired.
The main cast of the anime includes Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori, Yuuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, Asami Seto as Nobara Kugisaki, and Yuuichi Nakamura as Satoru Gojo.
Meanwhile, the staff includes Hiroshi Seko (returning) as series composer and scriptwriter, Tadashi Hiramatsu (also credited in season 1) and Sayaka Koiso (Jujutsu Kaisen 0 sub-character designer) as character designers, and Ryouta Aikei (Attack on Titan Final Season: The Final Chapters, Special 1 co-storyboard artist and unit director) as assistant director.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is based on Gege Akutami’s Shueisha-published manga, which debuted in 2018 and has 23 tankoubon volumes as of July 2023. The manga is described by Viz Media as follows:
