A third trailer for the upcoming Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! spin-off anime has been released, with an April 5 (effectively April 6 at 1 AM JST) Japanese premiere date revealed.
The trailer includes additional scenes of Megumin and her fellow Crimson Magic Clan members, as well as a preview of the opening theme “STAY FREE” by Machico. The ending theme “JUMP IN,” performed by Rie Takahashi and Aki Toyosaki as their respective characters Megumin and Yunyun, was recently announced.
Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! was originally a three-volume fantasy light novel series published by Kadokawa from 2014 to 2015. A sequel series began in 2016 and its second volume was released in 2019.
Similar to the main Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! The spin-off to Natsume Akatsuki’s isekai series, which ran from 2013 to 2020 with 17 main volumes and two short story anthologies, is written and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The series and its sequel are published by Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko and have been adapted into a manga by Kasumi Morino.
The Konosuba: A Wonderful World Explosion! Anime staff includes Yuujiro Abe (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 1 and Season 2 episode director) as director and Kanasaki Takaomi (KonoSuba director) as chief supervisor.
Meanwhile, the following staff from the first two seasons of KonoSuba are returning for this spin-off: Kouichi Kikuta as character designer, Makoto Uezu as series composer, Saori Yoshida as color designer & Masato Kouda as music composer.
Drive is producing the show rather than Studio Deen from Konosuba Seasons 1 and 2 or J.C.STAFF from KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World Legend of Crimson.
Maria Nagamari plays Komekko, Hitomi Nabatame plays Chomusuke, Kaori Nazuka plays Arue, Miyu Tomita plays Funifura, Sayumi Suzushiro plays Dodonko, and Shizuka Ishigami plays Nerimaki.
KonoSuba Synopsis:
Kazuma Satou, a high school student, and recluse finds himself sitting before a beautiful but obnoxious goddess named Aqua after dying a laughable and pathetic death on his way back from buying a game. She gives the NEET two choices: continue on to heaven or reincarnate in every gamer’s fantasy world! Kazuma, who has chosen to start a new life, is quickly tasked with defeating a Demon King who is terrorizing villages. But before he leaves, he can choose one item of any type to help him in his quest, and the future hero chooses Aqua. But Kazuma has made a critical error: Aqua is completely useless!
Unfortunately, their problems do not end there; it turns out that living in such a world is nothing like how it appears in a game. Instead of embarking on an exciting adventure, the pair must first work to cover their living expenses. Their misfortunes have only recently begun!
