Acclaimed Japanese singer LiSA has recently released an enthralling lyric video for her highly anticipated new single “REALiZE,” the official theme for the Japanese dubbed version of the film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Additionally, the single can now be streamed on various music platforms.

Scheduled for release in Japan on June 16, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” belonging to the renowned Spider-Man franchise. This CG animated movie continues the captivating story of Miles Morales, the protagonist, as he courageously rebels against the predetermined “fate” that previous Spider-Men were compelled to embrace. Notably, the film features “REALiZE” as LiSA’s first-ever collaboration with a Hollywood production, serving as its theme song.

The release of “REALiZE” comes after a seven-month hiatus that began after the release of LiSA’s sixth album LANDER in November 2022. This new single is being hailed as a “high-energy rock anthem” that perfectly showcases LiSA’s unique and empowering persona. Notably, the single’s jacket photo depicts “LiSA in the Spider-Verse” and is beautifully illustrated by an animator who contributed to the production of the movie.

LiSA made her solo debut in Spring 2011 and embarked on a remarkable musical journey. Over the years, she has become renowned for her contributions to the world of anime, lending her powerful vocals to a multitude of theme songs. Some notable anime series that have been graced with LiSA’s talent include “Fate/Zero,” “Sword Art Online,” “The Irregular at Magic High School,” and “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.” Her exceptional work in these projects has garnered immense acclaim and popularity both in Japan and internationally.

Her 2019 single “Gurenge,” the first opening for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, quickly dominated multiple daily charts and became the Reiwa era’s first digital single to top the charts.

The song is described in the press release as “a fast-paced rock tune that fully expresses LiSA’s rock heroine side” and “Please pay attention to LiSA’s unique lyrics, as she weaves a massage while staying close to the story and facing the worldview of the film sincerely.” The lyric video, which was released in conjunction with the song’s digital release, combines footage from the film with lyrics written by LiSA.

LiSA is planning a nationwide tour titled “LiVE is Smile Always ~ LANDER ~” that will begin in September 2023 and will include 19 performances at 14 different locations.
