The anime adaptation of Mashle: Magic and Muscles will premiere in Japan on April 7. (effectively April 8 at 12 AM JST). A main trailer and a second key visual have been released, with the former featuring a preview of the opening song “Knock Out” by okazakitaiiku.
The opening song details, as well as the ending song “Cream Puff Funk” by Philosophy no Dance, were recently announced. Several new cast members were also revealed, including Yuuki Kaji as Raine, Yuuichirou Umehara as Abel, and Hiroki Nanami as Abyss.
The main cast of the Mashle: Magic and Muscles adaptation includes director Tomoya Tanaka (Engage Kiss), series composer and scriptwriter Yousuke Kuroda (My Hero Academia), character designer Hisashi Toujima (Blue Lock chief action director), and music composer Masaru Yokoyama (Urusei Yatsura). The animation production company is A-1 Pictures.
Saki Hisamatsu (Love Live! Superstar!! Season 2 dance part animation director) and Gotou Nozomi (Love Live! Superstar!! Season 2 dance part animation director) serve as sub-character designers and action directors Takeshi Matsuda (Record of Grancrest War co-main animator) and Hiroaki Gouda (Amagami SS character designer) work together.
Meanwhile, Chiaki Kobayashi played Mash Burnedead, Reiji Kawashima played Finn Ames, Kaito Ishikawa played Lance Crown, Takuya Eguchi played Dot Barrett, and Reina Ueda played Lemon Irvine.
Mashle: Magic and Muscles is based on Hajime Komoto’s Shueisha-published manga, which began in 2020 and has 15 tankoubon volumes as of February 2023. The manga is serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump and released by Jump Comics.

Mash simply wants to live in the forest with his father in peace. But the only way he’ll ever be accepted into the magical realm is to attend magic school and become a Divine Visionary—a gifted student revered as one of the chosen. Mash, on the other hand, will have to punch his way to the top without the benefit of magic.
