Pon no Michi, a new original anime about the daily lives of several high school girls in Hiroshima’s Onomichi City who hang out at a former mahjong parlor, has been announced with a teaser trailer and visual.
The anime features original character designs from The Quintessential Quintuplets manga artist Negi Haruba.
The staff include:
- Tatsuma Minamikawa (Fire Force Season 2 director and series composer) handling direction and script duties
- Kenji Oota (Lance N’ Masques) is the character designer
The anime is being produced by studio OLM.
As for the voice cast, Kaori Maeda will lend her voice to the protagonist, Nashiko Jippensha, while Iori Saeki will portray the character of Pai Kawahigashi. Shion Wakayama is set to voice Izumi Tokutomi, and Yui Kondou will take on the role of Riche Hayashi.
In addition to those four characters, there is a mahjong spirit called Chonbo.
