The anime adaptation of the isekai light novel series Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon has received a main trailer, key visual, a July 5 release date, and additional cast information. The trailer features a sneak peek at the opening song “Fanfare” by BRADIO.
Reborn as a Vending Machine, Now I Wonder in the Dungeon follows the story of Hakkon, a young otaku who falls off his bicycle only to discover he has been reborn as a vending machine.
Hakkon discovers he can only communicate using vending machine phrases, primarily “Welcome” or “Too bad.” However, it’s not an isekai show without an overpowered cheat skill.
The anime is being directed by Noriaki Akitaya (Ayakashi Triangle), with series composer Tatsuya Takahashi (Vermeil in Gold) and character designer Takahiro Sakai (Yuki Yuna is a Hero: The Great Mankai Chapter). Meanwhile, AXsiZ and Studio Gokumi are co-producing the anime.
As for the cast, Jun Fukuyama will voice the titular vending machine, Hakkon (Boxxo in Yen Press’ translation), while Kaede Hondo will play heroine Lammis. They are joined on the voice cast by:
- Shiki Aoki as Hulemy
- Miyu Tomita as Shui
- Kazuya Nakai as Kerioyl
- Ai Kayano as Filmina
- Atsushi Miyauchi as Director Bear
- Daiki Yamashita as Aka
- Junya Enoki as Shiro
- Takuya Eguchi as Michel
Furthermore, the account’s recent posts revealed a new key visual featuring the majority of the series’ main characters, that will undoubtedly entertain fans as the story progresses.
Yen Press who publishes the light novels describes it as:
After dying in a traffic accident, I find myself standing near an unfamiliar lake. My body won’t move, I can’t hear my voice, and when I try to shout in confusion, words that I never expected come out!
“Get one free with a winner.”
I-it seems I’ve turned into a vending machine…! I can only do what actual vending machines can. It’s impossible to move by myself, and there’s no way for me to have any meaningful conversation-how am I going to survive some fantasy world’s dungeon like this?!
Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon is an adaptation of Hirukuma’s light novels, which were published by Kadokawa and illustrated by Itsuwa Katou.
The KADOKAWA Sneaker Bunko label publishes the light novels Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon. Three volumes were released between 2016 and 2017, with the fourth volume scheduled to be released on June 30, 2023.
