The anime adaptation of Reincarnated as a Sword has received its second key visual and trailer. An October 5 Japanese premiere was also announced.

In addition, Maon Kurosaki will perform the ending song “more<STRONGLY,” and the first episode will be streamed in advance on ABEMA on September 28.
The anime is also inspiring a 4-koma manga by Itsuki Fujioka, an assistant on the Reincarnated as a Sword: Another Wish manga spin-off, which will be uploaded to the show’s Twitter account.
Reincarnated as a Sword is based on the light novel series written by Yuu Tanaka and illustrated by Rurou. The books, published under Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label, began in 2016 and have 13 volumes as of March 2022. The 14th volume will be released on September 30.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the story as:
Reincarnated as a sentient weapon with memories of his past life, but not his name, a magical sword saves a young beast girl from a life of slavery. Fran, the cat-eared girl, becomes his wielder and wants only to grow stronger, while the sword wants to know why he is here. Together, the strange duo’s journey has only just begun!
Shinji Ishihira (Sasaki and Miyano) is the director, Shimizu Kazunobu (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy) is the assistant director, Takahiro Nagano (Yo-kai Watch: Reborn scriptwriter) is the series composer and scriptwriter, Atsuko Saitou (Shachibato! President, It’s Time for Battle! character designer and chief animation director) is the character designer and chief animation director, and Ryou Yasuharu Takanashi of Team-MAX is the music composer, and C2C is the animation production company.
Other members of the team include art director Masahiro Satou (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy), color designer Masato Takagi (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy), and photography director Onodera Masaaki (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy). Monster designers include Hiroshi Arisawa (Astra Lost in Space mechanical designer), Shiori Kudou (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy animation director), and Ryousuke Kuwabara (PuraOre! Pride of Orange animation director), while Teacher (the name of the titular sword) is designed by Shinya Asanuma.
The anime’s main cast includes Shin-ichiro Miki as Teacher and Ai Kakuma as Fran.
Tomowo Maruyama’s Gentosha-published manga adaptation began in 2016, while Hinako Inoue’s Micro Magazine-published Reincarnated as a Sword: Another Wish began in 2020. In 2015, the story debuted as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou.
