The anime adaptation of Sorcerous Stabber Orphen for the 21st century will continue in January 2023 with Sorcerous Stabber Orphen -Chaos in Urbanrama-. The fantasy action show’s teaser trailer and a visual have been released.
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen -Chaos in Urbanrama- is the third installment in the Sorcerous Stabber Orphen series, following 2020’s Sorcerous Stabber Orphen and 2021’s Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Battle of Kimluck. Takayuki Hamana and Studio DEEN are back as director and animation production studio, respectively, with new series composer Kenji Konuta (Ace of Diamond).
Imari Katsuragi as color designer, Shinyo Kondou as photography director, Takahiro Koyama as art director, and Shinnosuke as music composer return from the first two seasons. Character designers Youko Kikuchi and Rio from Battle of Kimluck are returning.
Meanwhile, the returning cast includes Shoutarou Morikubo as Orphen, Rumi Ookubou as Claiomh Everlasting, Yuusuke Kobayashi as Majic Lin, Marie Mizuno as Volkan, and Mai Fuchigami as Dortin. Daisuke Ono and Shiki Aoki are joining as Ed and Lottecia respectively.
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen -Chaos in Urbanrama- is based on the light novel series written by Yoshinobu Akita and illustrated by Yuuya Kusaka, which began in 1994. It was made to celebrate light novels’ 25th anniversary.
Fujimi Shobo published the book series, which included many short story collections, and it ended in 2003. TO Entertainment launched a new Sorcerous Stabber Orphen series in 2011.

Before the current anime, two J.C.STAFF-produced anime series were released in the late 90s. Sorcerous Stabber Orphen has also inspired multiple mangas.
