The Eminence in Shadow’s second season has received a new trailer and an October 12 premiere date.
The anime was previously scheduled for release on HIDIVE in 2023. The anime’s second season will consist of 12 episodes. Studio Nexus is resuming animation.
The news was revealed during a joint stream for the anime and the six-month-old Master of Garden game. The following voice actors were also added to the cast:
- Ai Kakuma as Mary
- Shizuka Itou as Yukime
- Tsuyoshi Koyama as Juggernaut
- Tomokazu Sugita as Crimson
Meanwhile, the existing cast of the anime includes Seiichirou Yamashita as Cid Kagenou, Kana Hanazawa as Alexia Midgar, Youko Hikasa as Iris Midgar, Asami Seto as Alpha, Inori Minase as Beta, Suzuko Mimori as Gamma, Fairouz Ai as Delta, Hisako Kanemoto as Epsilon, Ayaka Asai as Zeta, Reina Kondou as Eta, Rina Hidaka as Claire Kagenou, Haruka Shiraishi as Rose Oriana, and Saya Aizawa as Sherry Barnett.
Furthermore, the returning staff for The Eminence in Shadow 2nd Season includes director Kazuya Nakanishi (Comic Girls assistant director, Vivid Strike! main animator), series composer Kanichi Katou (Those Snow White Notes), and character designer Makoto Iino (Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town). Studio Nexus is returning to animate.
The official synopsis for season 2 is as follows:
Deep within the Lawless City lies the Blood Queen, a Progenitor Vampire, slumbering in her coffin for many moons. Cid, an expert at getting himself into trouble, should know better than to pursue her…But he’s desperate for a piece of the action.
It’s time for him to shed his daytime persona and assume the role of Shadow! However, it appears that he is not the only one who has had this thought. Soon after, he discovers that the Lawless City’s three rulers—Juggernaut the Tyrant, Yukime the Spirit Fox, and Crimson the vampire—are all on his tail.
To make matters worse, the Shadow Garden descends on the scene as the hour of the Blood Queen’s awakening approaches…
The first season of The Eminence in Shadow premiered on October 5, 2022, and lasted 20 episodes. The anime is based on Daisuke Aizawa’s isekai light novel series, which began in 2018 and has five volumes as of December 2022 and is published by KADOKAWA.
