The Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess manga is getting a TV anime adaptation, it is set to premiere in January 2024. A teaser visual and trailer have been released with the announcement.
The Shueisha-published manga, written by Robinson Haruhara and illustrated by Hirakei, began serialization in Shonen Jump+ in 2019 and has 11 tankoubon volumes as of March 2023. According to Manga Plus, the series follows a “princess held captive, subjected to merciless tortures by the Hellhorde!” Contrary to what the anime’s teaser trailer and visuals suggest, the source material is a gag manga.
Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess is directed by Youko Kanamori (Mars Red opening director and storyboarder, Great Pretender Episodes 14 and 21 director and storyboarder). Other members of the team include series composer Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun), character designers Toshiya Kouno (Schwarzesmarken sub-character designer) and Satoshi Furuhashi, and music composer Masaru Yokoyama (Horiyama).
Meanwhile, the cast includes Haruka Shiraishi as the princess, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Ex, and Shizuka Itou as Torture Tortura.
