Tsurune’s second season, titled Tsurune – Tsunagari no Issha -, has been announced, with a January 2023 premiere date. A teaser video was also made available.
Takuya Yamamura will direct the new season of the Kyoto Animation-produced title. Yuuto Uemura returns as Minato Narumiya, Kenshou Ono as Shu Fujiwara, and Jun Fukuyama joins as Eisuke Nikaidou.
The announcement of Tsurune – Tsunagari no Issha – coincides with the release of Tsurune – Hajimari no Issha Movie – in Japan.
The Tsurune series premiered in 2018 and ran for 13 episodes. It is based on the 2016-2018 two-volume light novel series written by Kotoko Ayano with illustrations from Chinatsu Morimoto. The light novels are published under KyoAni’s KA Esuma Bunko label.
Crunchyroll describes the anime series as:
When Narumiya Minato joins Prefectural Kazemai High School, he is quickly invited to join the archery club by the club’s advisor, Tommy-sensei. His childhood friends Takehaya Seiya and Yamanouchi Ryohei swiftly agree to join, but Minato is hesitant at first. Because Minato is the rare student with experience in archery, Tommy-sensei orders him to give a demonstration, which Minato does… except his arrow doesn’t hit the target. It is revealed that Minato has developed a terrible dysfunction regarding archery.
